SplitView

Terms

Last updated October 31, 2026.

By downloading or using SplitView, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use it.

Using SplitView

You can download SplitView and use it for free, for personal or commercial work. SplitView remains the property of its author, who keeps all rights not granted here. Don't remove its notices, sell it, or pass off a modified copy as the original.

Your responsibility

SplitView runs real shells with your user permissions. Commands you run can change or delete data, and SplitView won't stop them. You're responsible for what you run and for your own backups.

Remote control

Turning on remote control lets any device you approve see and type into your terminals. Only approve devices you trust, revoke the ones you no longer use, and don't expose the server to networks you don't trust. Remote control has not yet been tested with a released phone client, so treat it as an early feature.

No warranty

SplitView is early software, provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Features may change or be removed.

Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, the author isn't liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits, arising from your use of SplitView or this website. Some places don't allow these limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Third-party software

SplitView includes open-source components under their own licenses, and uses the Microsoft Edge WebView2 runtime on Windows. Those licenses and terms apply to those components.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms and will post changes here with a new date. Continuing to use SplitView means you accept the update. Questions go to CONTACT_EMAIL.
